South Korea Chip Exports Just Surged 259%: The AI Boom Is Real

South Korea’s chip exports just exploded 259.4% to $56.4 billion, pushing October exports to about $115.3 billion, the biggest year-over-year jump in over five decades. AI-server demand drove a surge in computer exports too.

Even after adjusting for two extra working days from the Chuseok calendar, average daily exports rose about 76%. Wall Street has been hammering AI companies over spending, but the physical buildout is clearly still accelerating. Strong demand doesn’t guarantee strong returns, but the infrastructure boom is real.
