Oil Just Broke $100 Again — Here’s What It Means for Your Money

Oil just jumped back above $100. WTI settled Friday near $103.27, up nearly 4%, while Brent closed around $116.72, its highest settlement since late April, after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia reignited supply fears.

Here’s why it matters for your money: gasoline already averaged about $4.28 a gallon this week, and gas prices jumped 9.1% in one month in the September CPI report. If crude stays elevated, it can pressure transportation costs, inflation expectations, and interest rates.

Next signal: the Fed’s October 28 decision. Rates are widely expected to hold, but persistent energy inflation could build the case for another hike later.
